Samuel Tennant

Samuel Wood Tennant beloved father, brother, and son passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016, from complications of a life-long struggle with diabetes. Our family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and technicians that practiced their trade with skillfulness and compassion on behalf of Sam. Sam wore a prosthetic leg and we want to thank the surgeons and the personnel at Hanger Clinic that worked so diligently to improve Sam’s quality of life.

Sam was born December 26, 1972, and was the fourth child of seven children born to Brent and Jody Tennant. He is survived by his daughters Raquel Rae and Ashlyn Page; his parents M. Brent and Jody Tennant; his brothers Joseph (Stephanie), Jared (Marianne), Aaron (Emily), Seth (Leah), his sisters Heather Tennant Nielsen (Brent), Holly Tennant and 18 nieces and nephews.

Sam attended Farmington Elementary, Farmington Junior High and graduated with the Class of 1991 from Davis High School.

Sam enjoyed Boy Scouts and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. For his service project Sam installed the flagpole at the Farmington Rock Church with the help of many volunteers and Jim Hefner.

Sam was called to serve in the St. Louis, Missouri mission and served honorably.

Sam enjoyed baseball, camping, backpacking, fishing, pottery, and following Ute Football and Basketball. Most especially Sam enjoyed spending time with his daughters. Sam’s hallmark was his contagious smile and gentle manner.

Sam graduated from LDS Business college with an Associates degree in Accounting. He worked as an accountant for the Steiner Corporations, and AirMed. Sam most recently served the public by working in the University of Utah Hospital gift shop. True to his nature and infectious smile Sam knew many of the employees at the Hospital and they knew and admired him.
